2025 NBA Cup Group Team Group: Lakers Mavericks in the same group, Fire Defence is on again

On July 10, the NBA officially announced the NBA Cup group stage grouping for the 2025-26 season. The Lakers and Mavericks belong to the Western Conference Group B, while the Rockets and Warriors will face each other in the Western Conference Group C.

The group situation is as follows:

Western Group A: Thunder, Timberwolves, Kings, Suns, Jazz

Western Group B: Lakers, Clippers, Grizzlies, Mavericks, Pelicans

Western Group C: Rockets, Nuggets, Warriors, Trail Blazers, Spurs

Eastern Group A: Cavaliers, Pacers, Hawks, Raptors, Wizards

Eastern Group B: Celtics, Pistons, Magic, Nets, 76ers

Eastern Group C: Knicks, Bucks, Bulls, Heat, Hornets

All 30 teams were randomly drawn into the five teams in their respective leagues based on the winning and losing results of the 2024-25 regular season. From November 1 to November 29, each team will play four group matches in the designated "Cup Night" - against each opponent in the group, one each, two home games and two away games.

Eight teams will advance to the knockout stage: six teams with the best record in each group, and one wild card team with the best record in the second place in each league. Wild card quotas will be awarded to the second-place team with the best record in the group stages between the East and West.
