Mavericks general manager Harrison said in an interview that no one can replace Irving, but they need a player who can organize the offense when Irving is absent.
"You can't replace Carey, our goal is to find a player who can fill the gap when he's out."
"We're not too worried about needing someone who can dominate the offense, I think we have enough players who can handle the ball and be competent in multiple positions. (What we need is) a player who can organize."
"I think we'll be different from the past, you'll have multiple players who can handle the ball, multiple players who can organize the offense. I think you'll see us playing faster," Harrison said.
According to previous reports, the Mavericks are expected to use a $5.7 million luxury tax middle class special case to sign a defender. Brogden is a name worth watching, and D'Angelo Russell is another, according to league sources.
