Lonzo Ball predicts Hornets will trade Lamelo Ball to the Clippers after Draft Dylan Harper

In a chat with WAE Show, NBA veteran point guard Lonzo Ball made bold predictions for the 2025 offseason. According to him, the Charlotte Hornets will use their fourth draft pick to pick Rutgers guard Dylan Harper and then trade his brother Lamelo Ball to the Los Angeles Clippers in a big deal.

"I guessed that let Dylan Harper go to the Hornets, I let Melo go to the Clippers," Ball said.

Lonzo was the first person in the "Baul Brothers" to enter the NBA. After a great season at UCLA, he was drafted by the Lakers with the second pick and he slowly grew into what he is today. Despite the team's multiple changes and major injury battles, Lonzo has been persistent in continuing his career, planning to lead the Chicago Bulls as their starting point guard next season.

As a Los Angeles Area and former Lakers player, it is no surprise that Lonzo hopes to see his brother join the Clippers, which his father, Laval, has talked about before. By all accounts, Lamelo will thrive in big market cities like the Clippers and Los Angeles, which can expand his fan base and play at his best.

Lonzo has no say in his brother's contract situation, but it seems he may have some idea of the young point guard's potential team changes. Mello has been the face of the Charlotte Hornets since 2020, winning him a top contract that will pay about $166 million over the next four years.

LaMelo averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.4 assists in his career, and his performance with the Hornets exceeded expectations, but he had little to show during his time with the Hornets. In five years, Ball hasn't made it to the playoffs, and the Hornets have not won a season.

If they want the best thing for the team, the Hornets might consider leaving LaMelo altogether and choosing Dylan Harper instead, who has shown great potential as the league's future star point guard. With Harper, the Hornets can start another rebuild and replenish their asset pool with another new start. Meanwhile, Lamelo will have a chance to start over with a new team. While the Clippers showed no public interest in Ball, he might be an interesting addition to them, along with Kawhi Leonard and a solid supporting cast. After winning 50 games in the regular season, the Clippers have proven that they are capable of winning many games. Still, something is missing from their roster, and Lamelo's addition will help in several areas of the court. After being eliminated in the first round of this year, no one knows what the Clippers have for the upcoming offseason, but they may need to do something big to give themselves the best chance to win. Adding a star point guard like Lamelo will surely change the situation, which is probably the best thing Ball has ever had in his career.
