Minnesota Timberwolves officially announced that the team has signed Johnny Juzang, a backcourt player who was previously in free agency. According to Shams Charania, an authoritative ESPN reporter, Zhu Zan received a one-year contract from the Timberwolves. Although neither Timberwolves nor Charania disclosed the details of Zhu Zan's contract, according to The Star Tribune reporter Chris Hine, Zhu Zan's contract is non-guaranteed and he needs to obtain a standard contract or a two-way contract for himself through the next training camp.

Zhu Zan was born in March 2001. He is 24 years old, 196cm tall and weighs 103kg. He is the undraft in the 2022 NBA Draft. Zhu Zan has played for the Utah Jazz in the past three seasons. He has made a total of 132 appearances in the NBA, averaging 18.4 minutes per game, averaging 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1 assist, 0.5 steals and 0.1 blocks, and 0.5 turnovers and 1.6 fouls. He has 42.1% shooting percentage, 36.3% from three-point shooting percentage and 80.3% from free throws. Zhu Zan's performance in the last season actually improved, but the Jazz still chose to cut him this summer, and he has been in a free agent state before.

In the NBA regular season last season, Zhu Zan played 64 games in 82 games, averaging 19.8 minutes per game, with an average of 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.1 blocks, as well as 0.6 turnovers and 2 fouls, shooting percentage of 42.9%, three-point shooting percentage of 37.6%, and free throw shooting percentage of 84.9%. In the NBA Development League regular season this season, Zhu Zan played 33 times for the Jazz's subordinate team Salt Lake City Star, with averaging 31.7 minutes per game, with averaging 20.6 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks, and 1.8 turnovers and 2.4 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 46.5%, a three-point shooting percentage of 36.9%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 90.4%.

Previously, the Timberwolves lineup only included 13 players holding standard contracts, and the gap between them and the second rich line was about $5.9 million. They had just signed Nah 'Shon Hyland with part of the guarantee contract, and only $425,000 in the contract of Hyland was the guarantee part. In other words, even if the team chooses to keep Hylander, they can still sign a player with their basic salary. In addition, they have previously provided a two-way contract qualification quotation for backcourt star Tristen Newton, and Zhu Zan can also launch an attack on the quota of a two-way contract. However, the premise of all this is that Zhu Zan needs to seize the opportunity to prove his strength. I don’t know if he can do this.
