Bild: After his internship at Bayern fell through, Boateng came to Barcelona to observe training

The photo shows that the former central defender (who ended his career in September) is shaking hands with Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski (37 years old). The two played for Bayern Munich from 2014 to 2021. Next to them is Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, who coached these two players from 2019 to 2021 and led Bayern Munich to achieve a historic six crowns in the 2019/20 season, winning the Bundesliga, Champions League, German Cup, German Super Cup and European Super Cup.

What is intriguing is that this video does not reveal the reason for Boateng’s trip! According to Bild, the 2014 World Cup winner will be allowed to observe training there for ten days. During this period, he will pay close attention to the work of Flick's coaching team.

This is a highly sensitive situation because Boateng's original internship plan at Bayern Munich fell through not long ago. Manager Vincent Kompany had originally approved the visit, but the club and the former player ultimately canceled the plan after repeated protests from active fans groups.

The background is that Boateng was convicted of intentionally injuring his ex-girlfriend in 2024, but after appeal, he was only given a warning. Especially those extreme fans who never want to see their former star have anything to do with Bayern Munich.
