May 28th British media talkSPORT reported that Sunderland is considering bringing Henderson back to the Premier League after successfully advancing to the Super League.

Sunderland defeated Sheffield United in the English Championship play-offs, and club legend Henderson appeared in the stands to watch the game. Sunderland executives know Henderson may leave Ajax this summer and think he can add valuable experience to Sunderland's young roster, and Henderson, who will turn 35 next month, is also open to returning to the Light Stadium.

Henderson started his career in Sunderland Youth Training. He joined the first team in 2008 and has played for the first team in total 79 times. In 2011, he transferred to Liverpool and won all major trophies such as the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the two league cups, the European Super League and the Club World Cup in 12 years at Anfield.
