Chivu: We shouldn’t waste energy arguing with the opponent’s coach, because we lost our clarity and composure

October 26th: In the 8th round of Serie A this morning, Inter Milan lost 1-3 away to Naples. After the game, Inter Milan coach Chivu accepted an interview with Dazn.
What is your evaluation of this game?
I want to talk about football itself and what my players did well in the game. We hit the post twice and despite our reaction we were still behind. We lost some balance in the second half and conceded the second goal, but we got a point back from the penalty spot and rekindled hope. But then we wasted our energy arguing with the other coach and never regained the clarity and composure to turn the game around. (In the 61st minute of the game, Inter Milan captain Lautaro had an argument with Naples coach Conte on the sidelines, for which Lautaro received a yellow card.)

Is sobriety and calmness the decisive factor?
It was a complete waste of energy at that time, we should have stayed awake and calm. When we conceded the second goal, we were ill-prepared for Spinazzola's pass. Then we reacted slowly, and the third goal we conceded was the result of losing our clarity and composure.
Are you still protecting your team?
Yes, that's exactly what I did. I'm proud of what they did and more confident. I saw a great first half, we dominated the game and came to this pitch and played our own style of play. But unfortunately, that's the way football is, and maybe we are missing something.
How did you feel on the bench when that altercation occurred?
I don't know what happened, and I don't care. But I'll talk to them because we can't ruin the good things we've done by arguing with the other coach, we have to focus on ourselves and what we want to achieve.
