Henderson said: "I am very happy to be here, I am very excited to start a new life, and I have always admired the club and the achievements made in recent years, especially their progress. I learned that the club is organized and managed in an orderly manner, with a very family atmosphere, and I think it is very important."
"I felt very good about everything when I talked to Phil Giles, Lee Dex (Brentford senior executives) and Keith Andrews. I immediately understood after this conversation that I wanted to come here and finally made this decision without hesitation. I talked to Andrews a few times and he was very kind and honest, and excited about the start of coaching. He is another important reason why I want to join and help the club keep moving forward."
Henderson added: "I try to teach my experience, especially for young players, but at the same time, I still need to be good on the court and do my job well. I certainly help everyone around me, but even at my age, I can still learn a lot and still improve and get better, which is exactly what I want to do in this club."
Henderson then talked about several former Liverpool players in Brentford, and he said: "Kelleher hasn't started training yet, but I've talked with Van Denberg, Fabio Carvalho and other teammates a few times, and it's certainly a pleasure to see a few familiar faces. They are all great lads, I've gotten along well with them in Liverpool, so it's very helpful to adapt to the new environment."
