Mamada, this is the first time we communicate with you. Welcome to Liverpool. How is it feeling to become a Liverpool player wearing this jersey with the team logo?

"Thank you. I'm so happy to be here and it's very exciting. For me, it's an important moment, because joining a club like Liverpool is not just a transfer, but also a moment when my dream comes true. I'm ready, full of motivation, and proud."

You agreed to join Liverpool last summer - what was it like at that moment? What’s your mood now that I’m here and signing a contract?

"When I agreed to Liverpool's invitation last summer, I felt that a major thing in my life was about to begin. But now, I really understand what it means to be a Liverpool player."

When you joined, the club was going through a difficult period - Jota and Andre Silva died unfortunately. How did the team you join unite and support each other, and how did it help you and other new players?

"Yes, when I first got here, the club was in a very difficult time. But everyone here supported each other and I could feel like a big family. We are not just a team, but a group of people who care about each other."

You have never played side by side with Jota, but have played against him in the European Cup, so, you know what a great player he is. And seeing Anfield and the condolences of him all over the world, we can also see how good he is...

"I didn't have the chance to play with him, but when I played with him in the 2024 European Cup, I saw what an amazing player he is. I saw stories about him, messages, and the love that people around me have for him. I can feel that he is also a very good person off the court."

I believe you have been paying close attention to Liverpool's game last season. It was an extraordinary season...

"Of course. I watched all the games with a special mood, as if I was already a member of the team."

How did you feel when you saw the team win the championship and the celebration scenes afterwards? Does this make you look forward to becoming a Liverpool player more?

"That's great, seeing the scenes of fans celebrating together made me realize that Liverpool means a lot to so many people."

You are the first Georgian player to represent Liverpool. How proud are you about this? What does this mean to people in their hometown?

"I am certainly very proud to be the first Georgian player to play for Liverpool, and I also know that this means a lot to my family and the people of Georgia."

What was the reaction in Georgia when the transfer news was announced last summer?

"I will never forget the day I signed with Liverpool. It was an exciting day in Georgia. I have received countless messages and everyone is happy and excited about it."

Can you talk to us about your growth as a Liverpool player? Starting from Georgian football to moving to Spain at the age of 20…

"My football journey began with a small stadium in Georgia. I played in the top domestic league for three years and entered the national team step by step. At the age of 20, I had the opportunity to go to Spain and started a brand new life there - a new language, a new culture, a new person. The first year was really difficult for me."

I learned that you didn't speak Spanish when you first arrived in Valencia, and four years later, you have become an important part of the team. What growth did you grow there?

"Valencia played a very important role in my life because at that time I didn't speak Spanish or English, as I just said, the first year there was really hard. But then I quickly realized that if I wanted to play, I had to learn, adapt, and work hard to improve myself every day. Now, I'm here to one of the greatest clubs in Premier League history."

Your goalkeeper coach Ocho Torrena in Valencia worked at Liverpool. Did he tell you what you might encounter here?

"Of course there is. Ocho Torrena is a great person and an excellent coach. In fact, when I received an invitation from Liverpool, he was one of the first people I communicated with, and he told me directly: ''Change the contract now'. Because he knows what a great club Liverpool is. I want to say thank you to him, thank you for everything he did, and look forward to seeing him soon."

I believe you want to continue to improve your goalkeeper skills, which is also It's the reason why you join Liverpool and take the next step in your career...

"Of course. When I was a kid, I often watched some goalkeeper videos on YouTube, including some clips of Liverpool goalkeepers. I remember Dudek, then Renner, and now Alisson. Liverpool has a brilliant goalkeeper heritage, and I want to write my own chapter in this inheritance."

You will join Liverpool's talented goalkeeper team, and Alisson is the core of this team. How much do you admire him? How much do you look forward to being able to learn from the world's top goalkeepers every day?

"Of course, about Alison, I want to say that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world today, and I am very happy to work with him. I can't wait to train with him and learn from him."

Obviously, you are here to compete for the team to play. Is this a challenge you are looking forward to?

"Of course, this will be a challenge. I like challenges. I come here to do my best to help the team."

During the 2024 European Cup, you attracted the attention of many fans and your performance was excellent.. But for those fans who don’t know you very well, can you tell me what kind of goalkeeper you are?

"I don't like talking too much about myself! But I think I'm a calm, focused goalkeeper who responds quickly on the goal line."

When the deal was concluded last summer, and now, have you ever communicated with Slot and the coaching staff? What did they say to you?

"I met him when I first got here, and I was so excited to work with one of the best coaches in the world."

The preseason has begun and you made a 45-minute appearance against Preston. That was your first time facing Liverpool fans - how did you feel?

"Yes, the first time I appeared in front of Liverpool fans was a very proud moment in my life. This gave me real motivation to continuously improve myself, improve myself, and give everything for this club."

What achievements do you personally and the team hope to achieve at Liverpool?

"I know, and I believe everyone knows that this club has great ambitions and I hope to be part of this journey."

Finally, do you have anything to say to Liverpool fans and the Georgian fans who are reading this interview?

"Of course there is. I know the responsibility I bear in wearing this jersey. This team logo is of great significance to too many people. I came here to do my best in every training and every game, help the team and win the trust of the fans. I would like to say in a few Georgian words: I sincerely thank all Georgian fans. I am proud to represent Georgia in this great club, and I will do my best to make you more proud."
