According to multiple foreign media reports, a Brazilian billionaire has designated football superstar Neymar as the sole heir to all his property, although the two have allegedly never met. Neymar, 33, will be given a huge fortune of more than $1 billion, according to the will. Neymar's team news office recently responded in a brief statement that they have not received any official notice on the matter.

The will was formally signed on June 12 at a notary office in Porto Alegre, Brazil, with two witnesses present. At present, the will still need to be approved by the Brazilian court before Neymar can be officially confirmed as the heir. According to British media reports, the unnamed rich man has passed away, has no children and is single.

It is reported that he did this because he "has a strong recognition of Neymar on a personal level." He admires Neymar's close family relationship, especially his relationship with his father, which reminds him of his late father. The will document stated that he believed Neymar was "not selfish, which is really rare in today's society." Neymar himself is one of the richest athletes in the world. According to Forbes estimates, he will become the third highest-paid footballer in 2024, second only to Ronaldo and Messi.
