Rashford: Seeing Klopp rebuilding Liverpool, Manchester United s reconstruction has not begun

11:45pm, 13 August 2025Football

Hupu August 13th Rashford participated in the recording of Gary Leinker's podcast program "Rest is Football", and talked about multiple topics during the recording program.

Rashford claims that Manchester United is in a "no man's land" and that the reconstruction under Ruben Amorin's coaching "has not begun yet."

"People say we've been transforming for years, but the transformation has to begin. The real transformation has not begun.

When Liverpool went through all this, they brought Jurgen Klopp and stayed there. They didn't win in the first place. People only remember the last few years of his coaching, and his competition with Manchester City, and won the most important trophy.

To start the transformation, you have to make plans and stick to it.

That's what I'm going to say , be aware of your situation. To win, we have gone through too many different coaches, ideas and strategies, and ended up in a difficult situation. "

Talking about the pain caused by Manchester United's decline and whether it is uncomfortable, he added:

"Yes, 100%. But this is not just as a player, but as a fan."

Barcelona will bear all the salary of Rashford this season, which will save Manchester United about £12.75 million in salary. The La Liga champion club also has the option to buy out Rashford next summer.

Last season, he played only six games under Amorin and was excluded. Amorin questioned Rashford's attitude and performance in training, while club legend Teddy Sheringham said the 27-year-old was "unworthy" to transfer to Camp Nou.

Rashford also claimed that the club's development was hindered because they were too "conservative" to adhere to the principles set by Sir Ferguson.

"When Ferguson coached, not only the first team had principles, but the entire youth training academy also had principles. So you can pick players from the age of 15, and they all understand Manchester United's style of playing. Any team that has succeeded for a period of time has its own principles, which means that any new coach or player must follow or supplement these principles.

Manchester United sometimes desires victory, but the result is counterproductive. If your direction always changes, don't expect to win the league."
