May 24th, The Mirror reported that Slott recently revealed in an interview that he had rejected Tottenham and another team.

The Dutch coach admitted that he did seriously consider leaving Feyenoord to take over Tottenham Hotspur before Tottenham appointing Postkoglu two years ago, but eventually gave up because of his family's dissuasion. Slot also confirmed that he had in-depth talks with another top club, believed to be Chelsea, and even reached a stage where tactical ideas need to be elaborated in detail.

He said in a group interview with Dutch media: "99% of the rejection of Tottenham Hotspur was due to family considerations. I even told the children that they could easily come to London to visit me during the school holidays. But my daughter said she wanted to be with friends more during the holidays."

"At that time, I thought it was a big deal to jump directly from Feyenoord. After all, who went to Tottenham directly from Feyenoord? At Tottenham and another club - I won't reveal my name - I need to do a PPT demonstration and explain tactical concepts, and compete with other coaches."

Slot finally chose to stay at Feyenoord. But when Liverpool contacted him to take over Klopp, Anfield's charm was irresistible. Now he won the Premier League championship in his first season, but he asked the Reds for exclusive negotiations to assure him: "When Liverpool contacted me last season, the situation was completely different. No club could surpass Liverpool. I did ask the agent to confirm that I was the only candidate, otherwise it might be reconsidered."

"Liverpool's operation is very professional, and the sports director Richard Hughes visited in person, and I was surprised by his understanding of me. A few months ago, technical director Ward also observed the training on the grounds of inspecting loan players, but later he realized that it was not the drink, which also proves how meticulous Liverpool is."

Slott admitted that winning the championship was not planned: "This season's goal has never been a league champion. My bottom line is to ensure the qualification of the Champions League, but in the Klopp era, the team has achieved this basic goal."
