The aircraft carrier has shown its strength! Maguire: The preseason is happy and effective, and we understand Amorin s system better

August 5th Harry Maguire is looking forward to the new season with greater progress. On the occasion of his sixth anniversary in joining Manchester United, the 32-year-old defender talked about his expectations and ambitions for the upcoming new season. Maguire moved to Old Trafford from Leicester City on August 5, 2019, and won the League Cup and FA Cup titles during that period.
"I just want to be part of a successful team," Maguire said in an interview with MUTV's Liam Bradford. "I think last season was a tough year for each of us, for the team, for the club. There is no excuse for this season. We will have plenty of time to prepare for Premier League games and have to make sure we are ready. For me, it's about staying healthy, being on standby and doing everything I can to contribute to the team and the club."
The Red Devils have experienced the benefits of more preparation time on the 2025 US Tour. There, the team spent weeks together and conducted a wider range of training.
"This is what Amorin emphasized, we didn't have enough time to train before, and although the training was tough, most of the content was tactical. It's great to do some tactical drills instead of running around the pole or running on the field. It's a pleasant and productive preseason, and we all benefited a lot from it. Now that we have a better understanding of the system, we just need to apply these to the game next."
Manchester United has another preseason game, which will face Fiorentina at Old Trafford. But it's all about meeting the first game of the new season, against Arsenal, in order to get a good start.
"We had some team dinners during our time in the United States and had some fun time, but on the training ground, we worked so hard. We went all out, so we felt in a good shape. We had to show that when the season started, because that was a really important moment and we wanted to be good and win."
