May 9th news The Lakers were eliminated by the Timberwolves 1-4 in the first round. Earlier, Lakers star LeBron James talked about the Lakers and Timberwolves series with his partner Steve Nash on his podcast show Mind the Game.
James recalled the series and said: "We started the season in great shape, but as you said, in the playoffs, it doesn't matter whether we perform well in the regular season or not, the key is the matchup. And this time we met a very tricky opponent - a team that is eager to fight and full of hunger, a team that has young players but also experience, and a team that is trying to take the next step. They are indeed a respectable opponent."
In the second half of the podcast, Nash asked James how far he thinks the Timberwolves can go this year, and James did not set limits for Minnesota.
"I can predict that they can make it to the Western Conference Finals, or even the Finals. Obviously, health is the greatest asset in the playoffs. They have all the elements to make a successful team- they have shooting, height, pace, organization, experience, and the defensive diversity they need in the playoffs. They play very hard."
