Ambrosini: In the past, giants did not need a huge lineup. This year, young players lack security

May 23rd Milan legend Ambrosini was interviewed at a brand event. He talked about his advice to young people and his experience in Milan.

You start with Cesena and eventually win two Champions League trophys. What advice would be given to young people who take you as their role model?

"My advice is not to be afraid to face your own weaknesses. Only those who continue to fight and never give up in the face of technical, physical and psychological limitations can go further. You can set a goal for yourself, that is, you will not leave any regrets at the end of your career. Of course, this does not mean that you will definitely be able to enter Serie A by practicing these, but at least you must have a clear conscience."

You were discovered by Milan when you were 18 years old. It seems even more difficult for young players to emerge this year. Is there any different way of paying attention to talented players in the past?

"I'm not sure if it's harder for young people to make a comeback now. The football ecology of our era was different and there were fewer games, so the wealthy clubs did not need a huge lineup. My case is very special. There were not many young people promoted by the wealthy clubs in the 1990s. But if you are good enough, the road will naturally be smooth. Clubs need to create an environment that allows young people to make mistakes and avoid excessive pressure. Take me as an example. The year when I was loaned to Vicenza was the key to staying in Milan for fifteen years later. Compared with us, today's young people are more insecure and they need to establish self-identity. Everyone's growth path is different, but they must go through the accumulation of mistakes and practical training."
