Hupu News on October 8 Multiple media reported that Mikel Arteta’s 16-year-old son represented the Arsenal U17 echelon in the Premier League Cup last week.
Arteta and his wife Lorena Bernal have three children in total. Gabriel Arteta Bernal is the eldest son. He already appeared in Arsenal's 3-3 draw with Watford in the Premier League Cup.
This teenager was born in 2009, when his father was playing for Everton. Two years later, Mikel moved to Arsenal as a player, and Gabriel spent most of his childhood in London.
Gabriel has joined Arsenal's youth training camp for many years. In 2023, he also participated in the first-team pre-season training camp, but at that time he only served as an assistant to the coaching staff.
Nowadays, Gabriel's skills continue to improve. Compared with his father, he plays a more advanced position on the field, mainly on the right wing, with the goal of becoming the next Bukayo Saka.
It is unclear whether Gabriel will follow in his father's footsteps and sign a formal contract with Arsenal. If he eventually signs, he will become a Division I scholarship player.
