November 01 According to the "Telegraph" report, Manchester City does not want to let Malmouche participate in the friendly match of the Egyptian team, and Liverpool may have differences with the Egyptian Football Association because of Salah.
Manchester City and the Egyptian Football Association are having disagreements over player recruitment issues. Manchester City are likely to refuse to release forward Malmouche for a friendly match a week before the start of the African Cup of Nations.
Egypt coach Hossam Hassan hopes to recruit the two forwards Malmouche and Salah to participate in the friendly match against Nigeria in Cairo on December 14. However, it is understood that since Manchester City will play an away game against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on the same day, the club does not intend to release Malmouche.
As expected, Malmouche will join the Egyptian national team after the game against Crystal Palace. Manchester City's League Cup match against Brentford on December 16 is likely to be the first club match he misses due to the African Cup of Nations call-up.
There are also variables whether Salah can participate in the friendly match against Nigeria. Liverpool will face Premier League rival Brighton on December 13. If Salah is called up by the Egyptian team as expected, Liverpool will also need to make a decision on his participation by then.
There are 24 participating teams in this African Cup. The event will kick off in Morocco on December 21, and the final is scheduled to be held on January 18. The Egyptian team is regarded as one of the favorites to win the championship. Its first game will be against Zimbabwe in Agadir on December 22. If the Egyptian team reaches the final, Malmouche will miss Manchester City's eight games, including key Premier League games against Chelsea and Manchester United. Salah may miss at least 7 games for Liverpool. In addition, Manchester City's Algerian left-back Ait Nouri will also leave the team during this period due to the African Cup of Nations.
