On November 5, Di Marzio reported that former Roma midfielder De Rossi is about to take over as Genoa coach.
De Rossi is only one step away from becoming Genoa's new head coach. As previously reported, Genoa have selected the former Roma star to succeed Patrick Vieira. After a brief period of representation by Mugita and Crischito, the two parties finally reached an agreement on the economic terms and the transaction entered the final stage.
De Rossi will arrive in Genoa before the game against Fiorentina, the last game before the international break. However, he will not be able to direct the game from the sidelines as he was suspended for his last game in charge of Roma (against Genoa).
At present, De Rossi has set off for Genoa and is expected to sign a contract there soon. The details of the agreement between Genoa and De Rossi have been finalized and all that remains is for the formal documents to be prepared and signed to begin a new chapter for the former Roma player. The contract lasts for eight months until the end of the season, with an additional one-year option, depending on whether the team can successfully avoid relegation.
