On October 22, the 38-year-old Djokovic announced through social media that he would withdraw from this year’s ATP1000 Paris Masters. He has won the men’s singles championship 7 times in the past. In the previous third-place match of the Six-King Grand Slam, Djokovic only played one set before withdrawing due to physical reasons.

Djokovic issued a statement on his retirement via social media: "Dear Paris, I regret that I will not be able to participate in the Paris Masters this year. I have left countless wonderful memories here over the years and achieved brilliant results, especially the precious moment of winning the title seven times. I look forward to meeting again next year. Merci (French: Thank you)"

Djokovic has won the Paris Masters men's singles championship 7 times in his past career, namely in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021 and 2023, including three consecutive championships.

In the previous Saudi Six King Grand Slam exhibition third place match, Djokovic fought hard for 80 minutes in the first set, but unfortunately lost the first set 6-7 (4). Then Djokovic withdrew due to physical reasons, which also caused a lot of controversy. After all, it was just an exhibition match. Djokovic also solemnly apologized after the game and bowed to the audience.
