Manwan: Manchester City is not interested in Costa, may buy back Trafford & players want to return

July 21, Manchester City's goalkeeper position is likely to change in the next few weeks. The Manchester Evening News said that despite all the rumors, Manchester City is not interested in Porto goalkeeper Costa, but may buy back Trafford.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has held talks with Galatasaray on a potential transfer, but Manchester City has not received a formal offer. Ederson was close to leaving the team last summer when Saudi team showed interest, but he eventually stayed.

Previously, people expected Ederson to stay in the team and fulfill his last year's contract, but Galatasaray's interest may change that, Turkey's low tax rates make the Turkish Super League more attractive to players.

In addition to Ederson, Ortega's contract will also expire next summer. Guardiola had said earlier this summer that he expected both goalkeepers to stay, but if one leaves, it would force Manchester City to enter the transfer market to find goalkeepers.

Despite repeated rumors and speculation, the report said that Manchester City is not interested in Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, but may turn their attention to forward youth goalkeeper Trafford.

Manchester City has a buyback option of about £40 million for Trafford, but if they are sure they have a strong interest in the old player, they may seek negotiations to lower the price. Any transfer now will depend on one of Ederson or Ortega’s departure from the club this summer.
