Hupu August 13th News TheAthleticUK ace reporter David Ornstein's latest report, Roma is in talks with Aston Villa on a potential transfer of winger Leon Pele.
The 28-year-old player signed a new contract in February 2024, valid until 2027. He is one of several players who may leave Aston Villa, including Alex Moreno and Leander Dendongker.
Turkish clubs including Besiktas and the Saudi professional league are also interested in Pele, but Roma is the most attractive suitor, after the two sides negotiated the transfer of Saudi players earlier in the transfer window.
No offer has been made yet, but negotiations between Villa and the Italian team continue.
If the transfer is successful, Pele will become the seventh player signed by Roma in the summer and their second from the Premier League. Previously, Brighton striker Evan Ferguson has joined on loan.
Meanwhile, Besiktas has signed six players this season.
Last season, head coach Emery used less and less against Pele, and he played in 24 top league games, with only 14 starting games. At the end of last season, his form began to decline, he was on the court with injuries, and suffered several impacts, which affected his starting lineup in the 2024-25 season.
