July 16th Daily Sports reported that the Barcelona Club is actively seeking new sponsors and is close to reaching a sponsorship agreement with the Republic of Congo.
Barcelona players have resumed training this week, but work in the club's office has never stopped. To improve the current economic situation and achieve a balance of income and expenditure, the club is working hard to find new sources of income to be able to participate in the transfer market normally. Over the past few months, the club has held several meetings with several potential sponsors to assess the possibility of various business collaborations. Although some contacts have been abandoned for different reasons, some proposals are still being promoted and are expected to be implemented in the near future. The closest one to reach is a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Congo, which will include the slogan "RDC, Heart of Africa" that appears on the team's jerseys.
In fact, on May 19, Congolese Prime Minister Didier Budimbu arrived in Barcelona and visited the club's office to meet with senior management. He and his team also visited the Sports City facilities and introduced the project personally, which attracted the interest of the club management.
The agreement is expected to bring about 40 million euros in revenue to Barcelona. The negotiations have reportedly entered their final stages and are likely to be officially announced next week, with the time ahead of the club tour.
