Lewandowski reveals that he was infinitely close to playing for Manchester United

As we all know, the Blackburn Rangers missed the opportunity to sign Lewandowski in 2010 due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption. However, few people know that two years later, the Polish striker almost headed to England again.

It is reported that after spending the first season of his career in Dortmund in 2012, Lewandowski entered the signing radar of Manchester United coach Ferguson. The two sides have even reached an oral agreement, but unfortunately failed to make a move.

Lewandowski told BBC Sports a fantasy story that is likely to change its career and the history of the Red Devils: "For Manchester United, I have decided and agreed. I want to join Manchester United and see Alex Ferguson."

"But they (Bortmond) don't want to give up on me. Because they know very well that as long as I can stay, I can sell more money...but I did promise Manchester United."

After spending two years at Dortmund, Lewandowski went to Bayern Munich, and in the next eight years, the Polish striker scored a total of 344 goals for the Bavarian giants and won the Bundesliga and Champions League titles many times.

Now, Lewandowski is now Barcelona's main striker and is still highly productive. Speaking of never getting the chance to prove himself in the Premier League, the 37-year-old said: "Maybe it's a regret."

"However, when I look back on my career at Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, I have to say I feel very proud. I don't feel missed with every action or decision...I do this because I know what I need."

Lewandowski scored at least 20 goals in 17 of the past 18 seasons, and remains one of the best centers in world football.
