August 2: Wolves officially announced the signing of Norwegian international David Mueller Wolf from Alkmaar. The two sides have signed a contract for five years, and the transfer is still subject to visa and international license approval.
Wolf, 1.85 meters tall, plays as the left wingback. He becomes the Wolves' third signing this summer and will reunite with national teammate Jurgen Strand Larson.
23-year-old Wolf has 190 professional games experience and is underage when he debuted in 2017. After transferring to Bai Lanen in 2019, his career entered the fast lane. In the 2022 season, he played throughout the game and helped Bai Lanen win the league with an unbeaten record and won his first career championship.
Then he joined Alkmaar and started his European career, replacing Kolkz as the main left-back of the Eredivisie team, playing in all 45 games of the Eredivisie and the European League. Last season, he further established his reputation as an offensive full-back, sending 8 assists (including the UEFA Cup against Roma), and breaking the goals of Galatasaray, Zwolle and Almere.
Wolf has played for four-age youth teams in Norway and served as U21 captain. He scored with Larsen in his first adult national team against the Faroe Islands two years ago and has won 12 national team appearances. In the perfect start of Norway's four-game qualifiers, he started all of them and broke Israel's goal, and made his debut in the 3-0 victory over Italy in June. Now he will play in the Premier League for the first time.
