FC Barcelona announced that Barcelona will play its Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
More than two years after Barcelona left the Camp Nou, the local Catalan giants can finally return to their home court this Saturday to prepare for the La Liga match between Barcelona and Bilbao.
FC Barcelona revealed on Wednesday local time that after obtaining the license required to increase capacity, Barcelona can resume a normal game viewing experience at this famous European football venue when it plays Frankfurt in the Champions League on December 9.
The La Liga match between Barcelona and Bilbao will be played with only about half of the audience, 45,401 fans, and the renovations have not yet been completed.
Starting in the summer of 2023, FC Barcelona has modernized the Camp Nou Stadium and increased the seating capacity to 105,000 people. The original renovation plan was for Barcelona to return to the Camp Nou stadium to play games in November last year. But a series of delays have delayed Barca's return to home games, with most of the games played at the city's Estadi Olimpic.
FC Barcelona issued a statement on its official website saying: "FC Barcelona is delighted to be able to play games at the Camp Nou Stadium again and continue to advance the comprehensive transformation project of the new Spotify Nou Camp Stadium."
