UEFA official: Frick suspends the game for one year and fines 20,000 euros

September 12th UEFA Appellate Body recently announced that the appeal filed by Club Barcelona for the 24-25 Champions League match was supported.

The matches related to the allegations are the 24-25 Champions League match between Barcelona and Inter Milan on May 6, 2025 (score 4-3). The UEFA Appellate Body made the following ruling against the allegations of Barcelona head coach Hans Frick and assistant coach Marcus Soger:

The appeal filed by Barcelona Club was supported in part. Therefore, the decision made by the UEFA Committee on Control, Ethics and Discipline on July 31, 2025 is now revised as follows:

fined Barcelona coach Hans Frick 20,000 euros for violations of basic codes of conduct and sporting ethics, and suspended his participation in the next match (the next match he should have participated). The suspension period for one year shall be calculated from the date of this decision.

fined Barcelona assistant coach Marcus Soger 20,000 euros for violating basic codes of conduct and sporting ethics and suspended his participation in the next match (the next match he should have participated). The suspension period for one year shall be calculated from the date of this decision.
