May 22 According to the "Ass", the Spanish Football Association's Appeals Committee rejected Real Madrid's appeal for banning defender Rudiger for six games.
The penalty originated from the fact that Rudiger was sent off for throwing ice at the referee in the final of the Cup of Rey on April 26 in Seville. In his post-match report, match referee Ricardo pointed out that Rudiger was expelled from the field "for throwing an object from the technical zone" (an ice cube), although the ice cube did not hit anyone.
He also mentioned that Rudiger needed to be controlled by several coaching staff members and showed aggressive behavior. On April 29, the only disciplinary judge of the Spanish Football Association imposed a six-game ban on Rudiger in accordance with Article 101 of the Code of Discipline for "slight violence against the referees". This clause stipulates the penalty range for four to twelve games. At the time, the judge dismissed Real Madrid's appeal to defend the player, even though Rudiger had publicly apologized on social media.
