Newcastle official: Villa midfielder Ramsey joins, with a total transfer fee of £44 million

Hupu, August 18th, Newcastle United has signed attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa, with the transfer fee of 39 million pounds + 5 million additional terms (both difficult to obtain).

The 24-year-old signed a long-term contract to become the fourth first-team new player this summer.

Jacob has been improving in Villa's youth training echelon. Since his first appearance for the first team in 2019, he has made 167 appearances in various competitions and scored 17 goals. Ten of them were in the Champions League last season.

The midfielder has also represented England in competitions of all ages and was selected for the 2023 European U21 Championship title lineup with new teammate Anthony Gordon.

Jacob will wear the No. 41 jersey this season for Newcastle United. After signing with the club, Jacob said:

"I'm so happy to be here. It's been a bit crazy for the two or three days, but I'm really happy to be here and can't wait to start a new life.

This was a big transfer for me, but when I knew the head coach was interested in me and really liked me, I quickly made the decision. He developed the experience of players, especially those who later became the national team, and it goes without saying.

Villa's game against Newcastle United was always tough - the team was full of energy, athleticism, and the fans were full of passion. I think my skills fit the style well, and now I'm so happy to be on the other side."
