World Sports Exclusive: Gregorio Manzano serves as the new referee s appointed person in charge

Hupu, August 5, exclusive news from "World Sports": Former Atletico Madrid coach Manzano will become the new La Liga referee appointed head.

The three members of the Professional Referee Committee responsible for weekly referees and VAR appointments in La Liga and Spanish Second Division have been identified. The first meeting will be held in the near future to prepare for the first round of the league. One of them has previously announced: Fran Soto, the new chairman of the referee technical committee.

However, we still have to wait for the announcement of the members assigned by LaLiga and the candidates jointly selected by both parties. The two candidates were announced this Tuesday.

La Liga representative: Unlike previous referees in La Liga, Lopez Nieto and Dorden Ibanes, the person appointed by this La Liga will no longer be the former referee. From now on, this function will be performed by coach Gregorio Manzano.

Manzano is an experienced coach who coaches over 400 games in clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Mallorca. He also coached in the Chinese League. This position is a first precedent in history.

La Liga and the Spanish Football Association (RFEF) jointly selected candidates: the elected was former referee Fernando Teixeira Vitines, who enforced more than 300 games in the Spanish football world. He will replace Evaristo Puenteya Lera, a former referee who has held the position since 2007.
