On September 16, according to Lakers' team reporter Dan Woike, the mother of former Lakers coach and current Bucks assistant coach Darwin Hamm, Wilmer Jones Hamm, has passed away last week at the age of 75. She was the first female mayor of Saginaw, Michigan.

Wilmer Jones Ham, the mother of NBA coach Ham, died on September 8, 2025 at the age of 75.

Wilmer Jones Hamm was the first female mayor in Saginaw, Michigan, USA, and she held the position from 2001 to 2005. In 2007, Wilmer Jones Hamm was involved in a case of burning Mercedes-Benz insurance fraud, but was finally declared innocent due to insufficient evidence.

Wilmer Jones Hamm has passed away last week. In order to commemorate and pay tribute to her past achievements, a scholarship fund has been established in the local area. Her memorial service will be held later this week

Wilmer Jones Hamm's son is a former NBA player Hamm. He has played for the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons and other teams in NBA career. Ham played a total of 417 regular season games in his career, averaging 2.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. In 2004, Hamm won the NBA championship as a member of the Pistons.
