Official: 35-year-old Henderson terminates contract with Ajax and leaves the team freely

July 10th Ajax officially announced that Henderson and the club terminated the contract early.

Ajax issued an announcement confirming that 35-year-old England midfielder Henderson and the club reached an agreement on termination of the contract (the contract expires in 2026) and left the team freely.

Henderson said: "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the people involved in Ajax for giving me the opportunity to represent this great club in the past few years. Playing for this club is an honor in itself, and it is even more so that it is fortunate to be the captain. My only regret is that we have failed to bring more success to these amazing fans.
